I am proud to say that I am a fifth generation Oregonian and have lived here most of my life. As this state, and in particular Bend, has grown and evolved I continue to love it more and more. I feel a complete sense of pride in being part of such a beautiful piece of the country. I have also been fortunate to call Colorado, Minnesota, Washington D.C. and Italy home for brief periods of time.
As a graduate from The Colorado College with a double major in Political Science and Economics I find myself drawn to local politics. I still love the study of government and am active locally. I also do admissions work for CC and enjoy watching the campus from an alumni's perspective.
Other passions include the environment and helping protect and preserve it. I support organizations that help Bend grow responsibly and promote local businesses. I believe in being part of the solution. Organizations such as The High Dessert Museum, Trust for Public Lands and Deschutes Watershed Council not only keep me connected to my community, but they allow me to give back and to have a voice when it comes to decisions that effect my family and me.
I am an active volunteer for Bend Film, which supports and promotes independent films. They host an amazing festival the second weekend of October that celebrates creativity and thoughtful expression of topical issues via film. I help organize and bring this experience to the residents and visitors of Bend. Without a vibrant local arts community our small town experience would be incomplete.
I am also an avid participant in local sports competitions. I prefer multi-sport events, my favorite being The Pole, Peddle, Paddle or as locals call it The PPP. This is a six legged event including downhill skiing, skate skiing, road biking, running, paddling the Deschutes and finally a sprint to the finish line. The community support in the form of volunteers and participants is a magnificent display of the endless ways that Central Oregonians take advantage of our unique combination of favorable climate and encouraging landscape.
As for my chosen profession of Real Estate, my favorite part is the negotiation. I get an adrenaline rush when I am in the heat of 'the battle'. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than negotiating favorable terms for my clients. I have been in the business since 1998 and have watched as we have weathered many different market conditions. I truly enjoy keeping abreast of general economic conditions and specific Real Estate Market conditions. Having three daughters that are active in the Bend-La Pine school district allows me great insight to many local activities and issues that adds to my local knowledge base. I hope to put my knowledge and skills to work for you soon.
